Priscela Ann
Legal Associate
Priscela Ann read law and graduated from the Queen’s University Belfast in Northern Ireland. Thereafter, she underwent an internship at Parma’s Chambers. Throughout the internship period, she gained exposure to a wide range of practice areas which includes and not limited to criminal law, family law, immigration matter, wills, probate and estate administration, strata title and management. Additionally, she was given the opportunity to handle panelship files for Air Selangor (formerly known as SYABAS). She then completed the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP).
She commenced her pupillage at Messrs Sri Ram in 2022. She was under the tutelage of the erudite Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram. Her fields of practice included administrative and constitutional law, civil litigation and criminal law. She assisted in the preparation of cause papers and worked with the lawyers on matters before the appellate courts. She conducted extensive research on complex legal issues. She also had the opportunity to assist her pupil master and the other members of the prosecution team in the infamous 1MDB case, particularly during the cross-examination.
Nevertheless, due to the passing of her pupil master, her journey in Messrs Sri Ram was brought to a halt. She then resumed her pupillage in Messrs Sreenevasan. She was under the guidance and supervision of the firm’s partner, Mrs R. Janini. Her pupillage journey with the firm encompasses a diverse range of legal matters. She honed her skills and attained experience in defamation, family law, intellectual property law, probate and grants of letters of administration and public interest matters by researching and assisting in the drafting of cause papers. Besides legal cases, she was given the opportunity to work in tandem with Dato’ Ambiga Sreenevasan on a number of human rights and public interest initiatives and/or projects. Among these are the difficulties faced by indigenous women in Southeast Asia in obtaining justice and Sisters in Islam.
She then was successfully admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2023.
